The British Museum

Founded in 1753, it opened its doors in the Bloomsbury area where the current museum building still stands. It has since then grown and hold over 8 million works. Borghese Gallery

Considered one of the best museums in a city full of museums, the Borghese Gallery has part of the Borghese collection of paintings, sculptures and antiquities. It was initiated by the Cardona Scipione Borghese, the nephew of Pope Paul V. It is located on the originally known Villa Borghese Pinciana, but now is the home not only to this gallery, but to the Villa Borghese gardens.
