VANCOUVER: AUTUMN WITH NATURE AND CITY

by Royal Holiday Club
Vancouver

Between September and November, Vancouver starts to change. Summer crowds disperse, temperatures drop, and the forests and parks surrounding the city turn red, orange, and golden. If you’re thinking about what to do in Vancouver, autumn is, in many ways, the best season: good weather, fewer tourists, and a cultural agenda with fun Halloween activities.

Here’s a guide with itinerary essentials:

STANLEY PARK, THE CITY’S GREEN JEWEL
STANLEY PARK

You can’t think of Vancouver without this park of over 400 hectares and half a million trees. In the fall, exploring the Seawall—its perimeter pier—by bike or on foot is incredible: fallen leaves, sea mist, and mountains in the background.

VANDUSEN BOTANICAL GARDEN
VANDUSEN BOTANICAL GARDEN

In the Shaughnessy neighborhood, this botanical garden transforms with the seasons, and autumn brings some of the city’s most attractive foliage. It’s a good plan for a calm afternoon, away from the fast-paced rhythm of the center.

CAPILANO SUSPENSION BRIDGE
CAPILANO SUSPENSION BRIDGE

Minutes away from the center, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park combines nature and adrenaline: the hanging bridge, the spaces between the tree crowns, and the Cliffwalk, a glass trail overlooking the cliff.

Entrance is about $70 CAD for adults; buy tickets early. For a free option, Lynn Canyon Park also has its own hanging bridge.

VANCOUVER AQUARIUM
VANCOUVER AQUARIUM

If you’re asking what to do in Vancouver if it rains, the Aquarium, in Stanley Park, is a perfect refuge for those days: sharks, penguins, and dolphins in a walk that works for any age.

CANADIAN HALLOWEEN
CANADIAN HALLOWEEN

In October, Pacific National Exhibition hosts haunted houses, family attractions, and night tours all month. Visit pumpkin patches on nearby farms with haunted and illuminated labyrinths. Travel far and enjoy more destinations!

ESCAPADE TO WHISTLER
WHISTLER

Although its peak season is winter, late fall in Whistler starts to show the first signs of snow in the mountains. The center is picturesque and walkable, with a great gastronomic offer.

You’ll arrive on the Sea-to-Sky Highway, one of the prettiest routes in the region, with the sea on one side and the mountains on the other. This is one of the best side quests to go to when choosing what to do in Vancouver.
