California Style – Coast, Shopping, Sun & Fun
For years Royal Holiday travelers have been visiting the San Diego area for the beach, the fun and that beautiful Southern California feeling. Wave Crest at Del Mar is by far the most popular – and that’s in no small measure because of the stunning sea that crashes around the clock into the California coast – and just moments from the resort.

With high cliffs that go right to the water’s edge, Solana Beach rewards visitors with secluded beaches and more breathtaking views than you can appreciate in one trip. The coast is lined with staircases, each leading down, down to the sandy edge of the California coast. For starters there are:
- Seascape Beach and Del Mar Shores are two local favorites on the north side of the San Dieguito river mouth
- Fletcher Cove, sometimes called the Pillbox, begins at Fletcher Cove Park, with a playground and grassy area. Fletcher Cove beach is a spot popular among surfers, with dramatic bluffs that flank the sandy beach area
- Tide Beach is among the most relaxing and with a patch of reef it’s a good option for snorkeling
- Seaside is mostly a surfing spot inside of the Table Tops reef
But don’t forget the fantastic Cedros Design District with over 85 one-of-a-kind shops, galleries and restaurants, including one of the best-loved farmers markets in Southern California.
